My husband and I celebrated our wedding in the magical Barberstown Castle last weekend, and I can’t praise this venue enough. The staff were absolutely amazing, nothing was too much of an ask. From the amazing wedding team we spoke to for over a year and a half to the servers at our banquet dinner. The ceremony room and banquet hall are in a great location, away from the hotel itself, so we felt like we were in our own lovely bubble with our friends and family. Our guests were blown away with the quality of the food from both the wedding banquet and our ‘Meeting of the Clans’ family dinner the night before. Everything was absolutely delicious, and the staff handled any dietary requirements our guests had perfectly. The castle’s location is perfect, and the guests who chose to stay the night were extremely complimentary of their gorgeous, spacious rooms. We chose the perfect time of year for our wedding, as the castle grounds looked absolutely stunning with the mix of orange leaves on the trees and red ivy climbing the castle walls. I just want to also say a huge thank you to the efficient and lovely Barberstown wedding team that we dealt with over these last few months; Danielle, Raina, and Emma. These fabulous ladies helped us organise this gorgeous day with our guests, and they really are a dream team! We got married at Barberstown Castle on 2nd August 2025 and we can’t thank them enough for such a magical wedding day and a very special day two. The staff went above and beyond for us. Everything was stress free and there was an incredible atmosphere and flow to the whole day. So many of our guests were complimenting the venue, the staff, the food and much more. We would like to especially thank all of the team for the care and kindness shown to our guests with dietary restrictions. They felt so looked after and the food was out of this world. Jess, Emma, Richard, Raina, John and all of the team involved, their expertise and care did not go unnoticed and we are grateful for all the work they put in from the beginning of our journey planning our day and every moment of the day itself. We had our wedding in May at Barberstown and we could not recommend it more. We had the most magical weekend and Barberstown supported us the whole time. We were able to do our rehearsal, wedding, and day two on the property with ease. Barberstown not only has a separate location for all three days, making each day feel unique, it’s also so convenient to stay at and close to Maynooth for traveling to and from both the venue and the airport. From the moment we stepped foot in Barberstown Castle, we knew that it was the place for our wedding. We didn't have to discuss it and booked our date before we left. From that moment the efficiency and professionalism of the wedding team, along with all other staff e.g. reservations & chef, made planning our wedding practically stress-free. As we got closer to the day the level of detail and attention was second to none. A big concern for us as a couple was catering for our complex dietary requirements, but none of this was an issue and the most amazing meal was served. Also, our guests who had mobility and underlying health issues were well catered for in a discreet and respectful manner. Nothing was a problem and any concern was put to bed immediately. We loved every moment of our wedding day and everything was to perfection and went off without a hitch. All staff were beyond amazing and the bar staff were great fun for our guests. Our guests still talk about the amazing food, how fantastic the food service was, the staff and that the overall atmosphere was superb. If we could do it all again, we would definitely pick Barberstown Castle. Annie, Sinead and Olivia are the dream team to have by your side to make it the best day of your life!

Getting married at Barberstown is an incredible and magical experience. The staff will go above and beyond to help bring your vision to life. My wife and I had a destination wedding and Annie and her staff were so helpful in coordinating with us and working with us. The week leading up to the wedding Annie and her team were so friendly and accommodating. The entire team helped us with all our last minute ideas and requests. From securing a champagne tower to handing out wedding newspapers the morning of our wedding to all our guests. They made sure no minor detail was overlooked.
The venue speaks for itself. The castle is a visual piece of art with beautiful willow trees and a variety of stunning flowers. As we drove down the driveway onto the property we were stunned by the charm and beauty of the architecture and aesthetic of the grounds. It absolutely took our breath away. Our guests were able to take in the historic and medieval, yet modern feel of the Castle at such an intimate level. Our guests dined in the garden prior to the wedding, went on walks and biked around the extensive grounds and were absolutely blown away with the peaceful countryside. Our videographer and photographer had both previously been to the venue, so they had a leg up on the perfect spot for our private vows and photographs. We were extremely fortunate with the weather and were able to get some photos of the perfect sunset in the open field behind the gardens. It was a once in a lifetime moment and we will have that with us forever.
Every single one of our guests commented on how delicious the food was at both the welcome barbeque in the Haggard Pub, and during the wedding dinner which included crowd favorites roast sirloin of Irish beef and Yorkshire pudding. The tea, coffee, scones and fresh fruit service on the morning of the wedding was just what we needed before tossing back some champagne. We highly recommend the late bar and late-night chicken tenders, as those were hit around midnight before the saxophone came out. The drinks and the chicken tenders gave our guests a second wind to keep dancing.
Having our wedding here was like a dream and we always joke about wishing we could do it again. We could not recommend Barberstown enough to any couple. We will be back to visit soon to not only enjoy the staff and venue, but to see how many initials have been added to the wedding tree.

What can we say - the wedding team are SUPERB! We were organising the wedding from London, so having people we could rely on made all the difference. The whole weekend was perfect from the welcome drinks in the Garden Bar, to the dinner in the Castle Keep on Friday night, the Wedding Reception on Saturday and the afters in the Haggard Bar on Sunday.
Everything is there in the one location that you could possibly need to make a real weekend of it and the venue is just charming with so much history.
We have been back to stay and been welcomed with open arms since - we couldn’t have asked for a more special, welcoming place to get married and would highly recommend it to other couples. Thank you, Barberstown!
